We have three dogs. Two are Doberman Pinschers, Batman and Robyn, and one is a Jack Russell mix, Carmello. The dobermans consume a lot of food and having two doesn’t make it less expensive. Batman is super sensitive to most dog foods and we have been successful at maintaining his health and weight with a brand call Bully Max.
Bully Max 30/20 is a high-protein, high-calorie food formulated to fuel your dog’s performance by giving him or her the energy they need to look and feel their best. This food is suitable for all breeds of dogs and all ages starting at 4-weeks of age until senior. A few highlights of this brand are:
- MORE CALORIES: 535 per cup. More than any other formula in its class
- The ONLY performance dog food with a 5/5 star rating Dogfoodadvisor.com
- The ONLY meat-based formula in its class
- PREMIUM INGREDIENTS: 100% Natural, 30% Protein, 20% Fat
- FOR PUPPIES & ADULTS: All life stages formula
Bully Max is a brand that specializes in a formula for Pit Bulls, but has worked out great for many owners with other breeds. Many reviews I read stated that they found Bully Max when their pups fell ill while feeding them grain-free brands such as Taste of the Wild.
Lets just say quality dog food really comes at a cost. We buy two 40-lbs bags of Bully Max for $179.40. This company also charges shipping which comes in at a whopping $54.35. So total we spend about $234 per month in dog food.
Yes, that is a heck of a lot of money. Yes, it seriously hurts sometimes when we have to keep buying it, but it is the only dog food that keeps Batman and Robyn at a healthy weight and energetic.
One way that we save a little bit of money every so often is their rewards program. The only reward I am interested in the free shipping coupon which works out to be every 3 months or so!
We love our dogs tremendously and we do our best to ensure they are healthy, happy and well provided for. Unfortunately, this comes a major cost. I know plenty of people who do not spend even close to this much on pet food that love their pet which is great. As long as your dogs are healthy and happy, definitely keep your budget under control when it comes to feeding animals.
What do you think about our dog food budget? What do you spend for your fur babies aboard?
